Connect and monitor
Ears is personal performer monitor control, not a full mixing-console replacement. Connect to a supported Behringer X32 or Midas M32 on the same local network, choose your monitor mix, and use Demo Mode for practice without sending mixer controls.
Use the fader surface for monitor-send level, mute, and pan or balance where supported. The compact Ears control opens the same quick monitor surface from supported workspaces.
Use Mini Appearance to adjust the compact surface’s device-local Transparency and Brightness. These appearance choices do not change mixer values, connection state, widget geometry, or the full Ears surface.
Arrange your Ears view
Use Views to choose how many faders are visible. Setup can reorder faders, edit their Ears-facing names and colors, control meter visibility, and create groups. These controls organize your Ears presentation; they do not rename or relink mixer sources.
Performance context
When Flow Mode is on, Ears displays shared performance connection state. It does not own the Show order or Pulse transport, and it has no separate Flow Mode switch.
Per-Song/time-driven automation is future work, not a current monitoring feature.
Portable layout versus live mixer state
ShowGen Backup includes portable channel order, names/colors, fader count, groups and compact appearance/configuration. It does not save the mixer IP or the live console/session as a recoverable mix. After restore, reconnect to the correct mixer and confirm your monitor bus. The mixer remains authoritative for live levels, source links and control feedback; a restored layout is not proof of a connection. Demo Mode does not send mixer commands.
