ShowGen · App Store V1

Privacy Policy

How ShowGen handles information in the app, on ShowGen.ca, and through its online services.

Effective Date:

ShowGen is a live-performance app for musicians and Bands. This policy explains how information is handled when you use ShowGen, ShowGen.ca, and related services. What is stored or shared depends on the features you choose to use.

Information you provide and create

You may create a ShowGen Profile with a display name and avatar, Band and workspace information, Songs, Shows, saved Flow Rules, ratings, Charts and Sheets Setlists, Pulse sounds, settings, and other performance content. Some of this information stays on your device; supported private iCloud sync and Band Sync handle different types of content. A backup you export is a separate copy that you choose where to save.

When you sign in with Apple for ShowGen online services, ShowGen receives an account identifier and, when Apple supplies it, an email address. We also use account sessions, verified email addresses where needed, Band and Performer identifiers, membership bindings, and invitation status to provide and protect account and Band features. We do not receive your Apple Account password.

iCloud and CloudKit

Supported ShowGen features can use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit to store and synchronize app-specific records across your devices when enabled or otherwise used by that feature. This includes supported Profile data and may include personal module content. Apple provides the underlying service, associates that data with your Apple/iCloud account, and applies its own terms and privacy practices. ShowGen does not access unrelated files or records in your iCloud account.

Private iCloud sync is different from sharing content with other Band members. Deleting content in a synchronized feature can affect your other devices; an exported backup or a copy already shared with someone else is separate.

Band Sync and membership

ShowGen's online services store the shared Band Flow records needed for Band Sync, including supported Band Profile, Song, Show, Rule, definition, and rating information. Active Band members can receive shared Band data through Band Sync. Band Sync is separate from private iCloud sync and requires an active Band membership.

We also process Band invitations and re-invitations, account-to-Band and Performer bindings, membership status, removal, and Leave Band actions. An accepted invitation activates or reactivates membership; Band Sync then supplies the current shared data. Removing or leaving a Band ends that member's access but does not itself erase shared Band records or historical references.

Local-network performance and mixers

ECHOSystem and Flow Mode can connect a Host and Followers on the same local network to coordinate a live performance. This is local-network communication, not advertising or cross-app tracking. Other participating devices may receive performance state and the information needed for the live session.

Ears can communicate with supported digital mixers on the local network so you can view and control your monitor mix. Mixer hardware is optional. ShowGen does not receive or sell mixer data for advertising purposes.

Website, support, and service providers

If you contact ShowGen or submit a website form, we receive the contact information, message, attachments, and other information you choose to provide. We use it to respond and operate the requested service. Online requests also involve limited technical and activity information needed for delivery, authentication, troubleshooting, rate limiting, and security checks.

Apple provides Sign in with Apple, iCloud/CloudKit, and App Store billing. Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and online backend, including the storage used for account, membership, and Band Sync services. Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect applicable website forms. Resend delivers service emails such as verification and invitations. These providers process information needed for their roles. Apple handles App Store payments; ShowGen does not receive your credit-card details.

Advertising, analytics, and sharing

ShowGen does not sell personal data or share it for third-party advertising. We do not use your app content for cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking. Online services may generate operational, diagnostic, and security records needed to run and protect them; these are not advertising profiles.

Information you deliberately share with Band members or through another app may be available to its recipients. Infrastructure and email providers receive only the information needed to provide their services. If you choose to share through an external app, that app's practices also apply.

Retention and your choices

Local content remains until you delete it or remove the app's data, subject to any copies you have backed up or synchronized. iCloud data follows supported app deletion and sync behavior and your Apple account settings. We retain account, membership, invitation, shared Band, support, and security records as needed to provide the service, preserve account integrity, respond to requests, and meet legitimate operational obligations. Cancelling a subscription, signing out, or removing the app is not itself a request to delete server-held data.

ShowGen's stated policy is to retain your data for at least one year after paid access ends so you can return to existing information. An explicit deletion request takes precedence. This does not guarantee recovery of content you have deleted or replace your own backups.

You can delete supported content in the app, manage supported iCloud sync, remove or leave a Band, and change or remove Profile information where the app offers those controls. These actions do not necessarily remove copies held by other members or in exported backups. For questions about access, correction, or deletion of server-held information, see Account & Data Deletion or email contact@showgen.ca. We may need to verify that a request concerns your account. Please do not email passwords or verification codes.

Children and security

ShowGen is not designed for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our services, please contact us. We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to these services, but no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as ShowGen changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. For privacy questions, contact contact@showgen.ca; you can also visit ShowGen Support.
