ECHOSystem is ShowGen’s live local-network performance system for participating devices. It is separate from cloud sync and Band Onboarding.
Choose a performance role
- None / Local keeps performance local. Flow Mode still works.
- Host Performance starts the local performance connection and owns the shared live state.
- Follow Performance connects to the Host and follows its current position and resulting state.
The Host remains authoritative. A follower does not silently become Host and does not optimistically change its own position after a request.
Performance Permissions
On the Host, open ECHOSystem → Performance Permissions. Each permission grants only its named capability.
Allow Followers to Edit Setlist
Allows existing Live Show Setlist add, remove, reorder, skip, and Undo requests. With it off, followers can inspect the setlist read-only.
Allow Followers to Trigger Loops
A follower sends a remote loop trigger; the Host validates it and performs playback through the Host Pulse engine. This is useful when the Host is connected to the PA or audio system. The Host’s Pulse assignments are authoritative. Eligible Loop Toggle assignments are available through the follower’s Pulse controls or BopPad Galaxy; One Shot assignments and unassigned quadrants are unavailable. This permission does not grant transport, tempo editing, setlist editing, Pulse configuration, or the Host role.
Allow Followers to Control Flow Mode Transport
Allows a follower’s Previous, Play/Stop, and Next to request the Host’s Flow Mode Transport. The resulting Host state returns to followers and includes Set Break states. It does not grant tempo editing, loop triggering, or setlist editing.
Read BopPad Galaxy and Flow Mode for the local controls those permissions affect.
Same performance, individual charts
Keep the Host and Followers on the same local network for the live session. The three-device demonstration uses one stable fictional Song, Northern Lights: Jasper has Full Band / Lead, Jordan has Keys / Vocal, and Morgan has Drums / Percussion. Shared timing and performance context coexist with performer-specific Sheets content.
The demonstration shows genuine synchronized beat indicators at normal speed. It does not promise instantaneous propagation of every Song-title change, and it does not show cloud synchronization.
ECHOSystem and Band Sync are different
ECHOSystem is the local live-performance layer. Band Sync keeps supported shared Band data current for verified members; it is not the live timing connection. Normal Invite/Re-invite establishes membership; Band Sync supplies shared Band Flow data afterward. Invitations do not transfer a setup package. Applicable private iCloud sync handles your own cross-device data. Flow Mode can run locally without ECHOSystem networking.
