Configure a pad
Tap a pad to play it; hold it to open Pad Configuration. Choose a Sound, One Shot or Loop playback, and Pitch Variation. For Loops, set Rhythmic Value and Hit Placement. Pulse is live-triggered performance audio, not a sample sequencer.
Loop Velocity limits the pad’s normal Loop hit velocity; it does not affect One Shots. Accent Placement chooses the accented hits, and Accent Strength controls how much harder they play. Where provided, a Sound’s velocity layers, alternate takes and Accent Take shape the result. &s places accents on offbeat eighth notes.
Start and stop Loops
In Pulse Settings → Loop Trigger, choose Next Bar to queue starts and stops at the next bar, or Immediate to apply them at once. The strength of the triggering strike sets the launched Loop level. A queued start retains that strike strength. Loop Velocity and Accent Strength continue shaping the individual hits.
Connect MIDI
In MIDI Settings, select a detected device or None, map notes to the four logical pads, and use Use MIDI Velocity and Velocity Sensitivity to shape response to external strikes. MIDI Clock is optional. Recheck the selected device and mapping after changing hardware.
Generic MIDI Learn and device-profile mapping are available now. Use the selected device profile’s Learn control for a logical pad, then strike the intended controller pad to capture its note. A learning strike captures the mapping rather than playing a performance hit. Recheck the mappings for the selected device before performing; broader hardware verification remains future work, not a promise that every controller has been tested.
Screen taps use their configured touch-hit level; an external controller is optional. BopPad Galaxy is the first supported trigger device, while broader device compatibility remains a testing direction. Do not assume every MIDI device has been verified.
Save in the right context
Pulse’s standalone setup, a Chart’s BopPad setup, and a Flow Song’s settings are separate. Named presets are reusable; Factory Default is protected. The Mini’s + offers a confirmed context save when live settings differ. In Flow Mode, Import from Chart explicitly copies a linked Chart’s saved setup into the current Song; later edits do not synchronize automatically.
