Pulse provides live BPM and click, pads and Sounds, MIDI input, and performance audio controls. It is designed for live-triggered performance audio, not a sample sequencer.
Song context and transport
With Flow Mode off, Pulse uses its standalone setup. In Sheets, the floating Pulse Metronome can take its BPM from the open Chart’s saved Tempo, including during Sheets Setlist performance. Missing Tempo leaves BPM unchanged; opening a Chart does not start or stop the metronome. In Flow Mode, it recalls the current Song’s Pulse configuration. Save Tempo to Song is the deliberate action that writes a live BPM back to the Flow Song.
See Sheets Widget View and Chart setups for floating tools and the explicit Import from Chart action. Chart and Song configurations are separate; later edits do not synchronize automatically.
Available only while Flow Mode is on, the floating Flow Mode Transport uses Previous, Play/Stop, and Next. It follows the full live sequence, including Set Breaks. A Set Break is structural, not a Song, so it cannot play a click.
Pads, Sounds, and MIDI
Tap a pad for a performance hit; hold a pad to edit it. Pads support One Shot and Loop Toggle behavior. In Samples / Sounds, create User folders, import and audition separate or multisample Sounds, and use velocity layers and alternate takes where provided. Factory percussion now includes Cowbell, Hand Claps, Tambourine, Shaker and Sleigh Bells. Loop Trigger chooses Immediate or Next Bar; the launching strike sets Loop level. In MIDI Settings, choose a detected device or None, use current generic MIDI Learn and device-profile mapping for the four logical pad zones, and optionally use MIDI Velocity or MIDI Clock. Current-Song pad runtime continues while Sheets is visible. See Pad Configuration and MIDI for mapping guidance; wider hardware verification remains future work.

Bring a chart and monitor controls into Pulse
From the Pulse workspace, use Sheets Mini to open a chart alongside the pads and transport. The earlier demonstration opens Northern Lights, moves the Mini Window and resizes it smaller and larger. Sheets Mini does not have an opacity control.
Ears Mini brings compact monitor controls into the workspace. Its window can move and resize; Ears appearance controls can change transparency. Those appearance changes do not alter the audio mix. The website demonstration uses local Demo Mode meters, not a connected console.

Help test your own samples
In Samples / Sounds, use a User folder to import and audition your own samples, then assign a Sound to a pad. Test One Shot hits, Loop Toggle behavior and your output setup with material you have permission to use. Factory sounds remain read-only.
The current sample library includes multisample import and the factory percussion described above; further library improvements remain planned. Compatible external trigger support is intended to grow beyond the first supported BopPad Galaxy device; hardware is optional for testing on-device pads.
