Reading and presentation

Presentation, Widget View and Chart View

Choose reading defaults, chart-specific view options and floating widgets on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

The current view options are grouped under Presentation, Widget View, Chart View and Chord Display. Use the exact controls below rather than looking for a separate screen named View Options.

Presentation: your reading defaults

Open Presentation from Charts or Setlists. Expand the sections you need for typography, chord display, colors, spacing and layout. A live preview helps you judge the changes. Wide layouts can place settings beside the preview; narrower layouts stack them.

Show Key in Title displays the stored Chart key. Chord Representation includes chord names and Nashville Numbers; use the correct Song Key for number conversion. Chart Grammar… manages non-chord tokens that should remain plain text. Do not add real chord names unless you intend to exclude them from recognition and transposition.

For PDFs, choose Fit Width or Fit Page. These defaults apply where you have not saved a manual resize for that Chart.

Widget View: choose your tools

Under Presentation → Widget View, choose:

  • Show Pulse Metronome for the independent metronome.
  • Show Ears Mini Window for compact monitor controls.
  • Show Trigger Device for the existing BopPad Mini controls.
  • Show Flow Mode Transport, available only while Flow Mode is on, for Previous, Play/Stop and Next in the active Show.

The icons open the corresponding floating tools; active icons indicate open windows. The same selections apply across the Sheets library, reader and Setlist Perform. Turning Flow Mode off immediately dismisses Flow Mode Transport. It does not make the independent Pulse Metronome unavailable.

Move, resize and lock supported windows using their own controls. Their position and appearance are separate from these visibility choices. See Workspace Settings for Tap to Hide/Show Widgets and shared layout preferences.

Chart View: adjust this Chart

Open Chart View in the reader for available lyric/chord sizes and chord visibility. On camera scans, Lyrics Size shows a percentage and scales the scanned page rather than resizing editable lyric text; Apply OCR adds recognized chord controls and Remove OCR returns to the clean scan.

Changes saved for a Chart are separate from the Presentation defaults. Reset to Presentation Default clears the relevant view overrides, including manual PDF scaling, without discarding separately saved musical reader choices.

Chord Display and Nashville Numbers

Chord Display → Key / Transpose changes the reading offset; Capo sets the capo presentation. These are separate from editing the stored Chart Key in Chart Details. Save Key deliberately saves the key. The Nashville Numbers control requires a valid Song Key. On a camera scan, apply OCR before using scanned-chord transposition and capo.

Keep navigation available

In independent Setlist Perform, Sheets provides Previous, Next and Setlist controls. During Flow Mode, the Show owns navigation and tempo. On iPhone, controls adapt to screen width and orientation; on iPad and Mac, a wider layout provides more room for tools. Rotating or resizing does not create a different Chart library.
